7 tips for improving your relationship with the Qur'an
Are you one of those people who rarely touches the Qur'an? Or do you read daily, but don't find it is having the impact on you that it should? Whatever the case may be, these are some simple tips that can help you connect with the Qur'an.
1. Before you touch it, check your heart. The key to really benefiting from the Qur'an is to check your heart first, before you even touch Allah's book. Ask yourself, honestly, why you are reading it. Is it to just get some information and to let it drift away from you later?
Remember that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was described by his wife as a "walking Qur'an": in other words, he didn't just read and recite the Qur'an, he lived it.
2. Do your Wudu (ablution). Doing your Wudu is good physical and mental preparation to remind you you're not reading just another book. You are about to interact with God, so being clean should be a priority when communicating with Him.
3. Read only 5 minutes everyday. Too often, we think we should read Qur'an for at least one whole hour. If you aren't in the habit of reading regularly, this is too much. Start off with just five minutes daily.
If you took care of step one, Insha Allah (God willing), you will notice that those five minutes will become ten, then half an hour, then an hour, and maybe even more!
4. Make sure you understand what you've read. Five minutes of reading the Qur'an in Arabic is good, but you need to understand what you're reading. Make sure you have a good translation of the Qur'an in the language you understand best. Always try to read the translation of what you've read that day
5. Remember, the Qur'an is more interactive than a CD. In an age of "interactive" CD-Roms and computer programs, a number of people think books are passive and boring. But the Qur'an is not like that. Remember that when you read Qur'an,you are interacting with Allah. He is talking to you, so pay attention.
6. Don't just read, listen too. There are now many audio cassettes and CDs of the Qur'an, a number of them with translations as well. This is great to put on your walkman or your car's CD or stereo as you drive to and from work. Use this in addition to your daily Qur'an reading, not as a replacement for it.
7. Make Dua (supplication). Ask Allah to guide you when you read the Qur'an. Your aim is to sincerely, for the love of Allah, interact with Him by reading, understanding and applying His blessed words. Making Dua to Allah for help and guidance will be your best tool for doing this

I Love You for the Sake of Allah
One day while the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was sitting with his Companions, a man passed by them. One of the ones sitting said, “I love this man.”
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, wanted to know if he had told this man his feelings or not. So he, peace and blessings be upon him, asked him, “Did you tell him?”
The man replied, “No, I have not told him yet.”
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, told him that if one loves his brother, he should tell him of his feelings. So the man got up and hurried to catch the other man.
Then he said to him, “I love you for the sake of Allah.”
The other man replied, “May Allah love you, as you loved me for His Sake.”
Thus, it is a Prophetic tradition that a Muslim tell his Muslim brother that he loves him for the Sake of Allah, and the other replies that he loves him, too, for the sake of Allah.
The Prophet said, Allah says: I am just as My slave thinks I am, (i.e. I am able to do for him what he thinks I can do for him) and I am with him if He remembers Me and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running
ALLAH KNOWS BEST
ALLAH knows what is best for us So
why should we complain We always want
the sunshine But He knows there must be rain.
We always want laughter and
the merriment of cheer but our heart
will lose their tenderness If we never shed a tear.
ALLAH tests us often with suffering and sorrow
He tests us not to punish usbut to help us meet tomorrow.
For growing trees are strenghtenedif they can withstand
the stormand the sharpness of
the chisel gave the marble its grace and form.
ALLAH tests us oftenand for every pain
He gives us provided we are patientIs
followed by rich gain So whenever we feel that everything
is going wrongIt is just ALLAH'S way to make our
spirit strong.
Express your feelings instantly: If you loved someone or felt good feelings about them, don't wait, just tell them at once
In The Name Of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Gracious, the most Merciful!
Rasulullah S.A.W. said, "Jannah lies under the feet of your mother."
Rasulullah S.A.W. said, "If you read the kalima with conviction just once, Jannah becomes upon you."
Rasulullah S.A.W. said, "A women who reveals her body or even wears tight fitting clothes wont come within 500 years of the smell of Jannah."
Rasulullah S.A.W. said, "The dust which settles on a man while he is out in the path of Allah; not only the fire, but the smoke of Jahannam is haraam for those parts of the body."
Rasulullah S.A.W. said, "I only curse 3 types of people;
1. Those people who do not look after their parents when they are in old age.
2. Those people who do not take full advantage of the blessed month of Ramadan.
3. Those people who don not say, 'Salallahu -Alayhay- -Wa-Aalahay Wasallam' when my name is mentioned."
Rasulullah S.A.W said, "An intelligent person is one who is constantly thinking about and preparing for death."
Rasulullah S.A.W. said, "It is better for a man that a steel nail be driven through the centre of his head rather than if he touches the palm of a strange women."
PLEASE TAKE 2 MINUTES OF YOUR TIME TO READ THIS.
Imagine this happening to you...
One day during Jummah Salah, a 1,000 member congregation was surprised to see two men enter, both covered from head to toe in black and carrying sub-machine guns. One of the men proclaimed, "Anyone willing to take a bullet for Allah remain where you are." Immediately, the congregation fled, and out of the 1,000 there only remained around 20. The man who had spoken took off his hood, looked at the Imaam and said, "Okay Maulana, I got rid of all the hypocrites. Now you may begin your sermon." The two men then turned and walked out." Too deep not to pass on? "Funny how simple it is for people to trash Allah ... and then wonder why the world's going to hell." "Funny how we believe what the newspapers say ... but question what the Qu'ran says." "Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven ... provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything the Quran says."
"Funny how someone can say 'I believe in Allah' ... but still follow Shaitaan (who, by the way, also 'believes' in Allah)." "Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire ... but when you start sending messages regarding Allah, people think twice about sharing."
"Funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely through cyberspace ... but the public discussion of Allah is suppressed in the school and workplace." Funny, isn't it? "Funny how someone can be so fired up for Allah on Friday ... but be an invisible Muslim the rest of the week." Are you laughing? "Funny how when you go to forward this message ... you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them." "Funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me ... than what Allah thinks of me."
Are you thinking?
Will you share this with people that you care about?
Yes or No?
May Allah Reward you ! ameen

Each Breath
Am I truly grateful for each breath that I take, For each and every moment that I am awake? Do I thank Allah for my restful sleep, And for the dreams that cause me to weep?Am I honestly thankful to the Almighty One,
For the early morning mist, the bright, rising sun? During Fajr prayer, I use my soft prayer mat, As Allah’s servant, do I appreciate that?
Throughout the day, do I realize, That Allah, All knowing and the Most Wise, Gives me what I need and so much more And that I have so much to be grateful for?
The scent of fresh rain, a small child’s laugh, My sisters who choose to stand for Islam, Each piece of fruit, each glass of water, Brothers protecting their sons and their daughters.
A grandmother’s love, a book of hadith, The clothes that I wear, the food that I eat. The book that I should follow, the Holy Quran, Promoting the good and ending the wrong.
So I must ask myself every beautiful day, Am I truly grateful for each breath that I take, For each and every moment that I am awake? Do I thank Allah for my restful sleep, And for the dreams that cause me to weep?
